Decoding remington 1100 3 magnum1/27/2023 ![]() ![]() On my list of guns to get, an LT20 Magnum. Dunno what a 20 gauge 1100 magnum looks like, proly the same I reckon. The magnum action sleeve is on the bottom. I got it cheap due to the mod, and threaded it for a screw, plugged it. but it still had 3" chamber.so an unsuspecting person running 3" in it would have torn up his gun. They converted a 3" to run low brass 2 3/4". I scored a Remchoke magnum barrel that somebody drilled another gas port in.not threaded for plug. ![]() So it would be best if those buying a used magnum barrel would check. Most likely it still has the magnum one on, but double check.Īlso.some magnum barrels do have two gas ports, some places used to mod them from one to two, the added port threaded to take a set screw -plug it when using magnums). Just because it says Magnum on the side, doesn't mean diddly as people could change the action sleeve. The difference on 1100's is the bbl (like others said, factory 3" mags had single gas port, 2 3/4" have two gas ports).ĪND.the action sleeve is heavier on a magnum. Magnum receivers are the same as regular receivers. Remington often touted their magnums as "do all" guns, all one had to do was get another Remington 2 3/4" bbl for the smaller stuff. ![]()
